7 months after ‘retiring’ from Winner’s Chapel, Abioye unveils own church

Former Vice-President of Living Faith Church, Pastor David Abioye, is set to begin Sunday morning services at his new church on May 4, 2025.

Abioye disclosed this at the end of an evening fellowship on Sunday. He noted that his ministry will now hold services by 8am every Sunday morning.

“Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name,” he said.

Recall that Pastor Abioye, 63, and Thomas Aremu, 67, were retired from Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winner’s Chapel, in October 2024 after a review of the church’s administrative policy set the mandatory retirement age for leaders at 55.Leadership training

The policy also outlined that future leaders of the Living Faith Church will be restricted to one or two seven-year terms, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.

Living Faith Church, with headquarters in Canaan City in Ota, Ogun State, is headed by its founder, Bishop David Oyedepo.

Following Abioye’s compulsory retirement, he commenced a non-denominational ministry, which held fellow every Sunday evening.

However, on Sunday, Abioye stated that his ministry was born out of a divine mandate and not personal ambition, charging members to pursue personal revival as the basis for corporate renewal.
