Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned that bringing former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 elections would destroy the party.
Wike criticized the idea of Obi’s return, saying it would amount to political suicide and the destruction of PDP’s credibility and ideological foundation.
He accused Obi of previously condemning the PDP and said that ambition alone should not justify his return, which would kill the party.
Wike insisted that the party must adhere to principles of rotation, equity, and justice by ensuring the presidency returns to the South to regain national prominence.
He further described Obi as lacking character and warned that bringing him into PDP would purge the party’s remaining strength and unity .
